The Temple

The Making
OMSAIOMShirdi Sai Baba temple, Rourkela has been built under the inspiration and guidance of Gurujee Sri Chandra Bhanu Satpathy, Delhi who is an ardent devotee of Baba and has already built about 200 temples of Baba in India and across the world.

It is built on about half an acre of land donated by two devotees. At that time nobody believed that such a beautiful and huge Temple could be built by the then very ordinary devotees of Baba. But it all happened like a miracle. Money and Material were never a hindrance to build this huge temple.

The design and supervision has been done by Architect Sri Bhabani Mishra of Bhubaneswar who is known as a "temple expert" and has already designed a dozen of temples throughout India. Sri Arun Sahu, a young contractor, took up the onus of construction. The idol of Baba has been sculpted by Sri Mahesh Bhardwaj of Jaipur, Rajasthan, known world-wide for making Baba's idols.

The total project cost has been about Rs. 1.5 crores. Material and artisans from all over India have gone into the construction of the temple. No compromise has ever been made in quality of material or workmanship.

The temple has been built in such away that devotees passing by in trains can have a glimpse and darshan of Baba in this temple. It is situated by the side of national highway so that people traveling by road can also see the temple.
