Our mission is to spread Baba’s spiritual teachings to people of all religions.
Sai Baba of Shirdi was born around 1838 AD (exact date not known). He lived in Shirdi in the district of Ahmednagar on 15th October, 1918 when he was about 80 years of age.
Sai Baba is one of the greatest Sufi saints of our time and the debate on whether he was a Muslim or a Hindu is unresolved till date. In his times the devotees were both Hindus and Muslims. Years after his Mahasamadhi his spirit still guides his devotees, who are now in millions all over the world.
Some of Sai Baba's key teachings include
- Oneness of God ("Sab Ka Malik Ek")
- Equality and Tolerance
- Love and respect for each other and compassion towards the downtrodden and animals
- He believed that mere reading of spiritual books is not enough, converting this knowledge to real spiritual change is essential
- He emphasized forgiveness as a virtue and assertiveness in pursuit of truth rather than aggression
- Devotion to Guru as the spiritual path leading to liberation from the cycle of birth-death-rebirth
- His path of devotion emphasized Faith and Patience ("Shradha and Saburi")
- He did not believe in any major religious rituals. All he wanted was love and devotion from his devotees- they should remember him always
- He did not like devotees consuming alcohol at all. He was a non-vegetarian himself
- He believed and followed "Different Strokes for Different Folks"
